Oral Hygiene – Preventative Care
Practicing an effective oral care routine can dramatically reduce your changes in developing gum disease and decay. Consequently this can help to prevent more serious conditions developing, including diabetes, heart disease and stroke. To help ensure your optimal oral health we recommend that any good oral care routine should include,
- Brushing twice daily
- Flossing at least once daily. We find that the best time for this is prior to going to sleep, to help remove any accumulation of dental plaque that forms between the teeth.Using an anti-bacterial mouthwash if recommended by your dentist.
- Maintaining a balanced, nutritional diet.
- Regular 6 monthly dental assessment appointments, because even the most methodical oral care routine needs a professional touch.
These regular visits to your dentist are to ensure the removal of any tough plaque or calculus, the application of fluoride treatment and a comprehensive examination to help detect and treat any potential issues before they develop into problems.
